Saint Francis Xavier is one of five Saints painted for a private commission.
This artwork depicts him holding a crucifix, which he carried as a tool to teach men, women, and children about Christ’s selfless love.
He raises a seashell from which holy water flows - to recall how he baptized more than 30,000 people along the coasts of India, Southeast Asia, and Japan.
The Sacred Heart of Jesus adorns the icon, flaming to show his mission to “set all afire” for God.
