St. Anthony of Padua
St. Anthony of Padua is taken from a larger sanctuary mural commissioned by Fr. Robert Clemments for the All Saints Catholic Newman Center at Arizona State University. The original depiction of St. Anthony sits in the context of an entire program of mural work that covers the interior of the All Saints Newman Center Chapel.
The mural work and painted decoration radiantly reveal the church building as entirely sacramental, making present to the senses that when we enter the chapel and celebrate Mass, we leave the fallen world and enter into the Heavenly Jerusalem.
The artwork features images of the restored cosmos, a multitude of angels offering incense, a host of saints, an image of the four living creatures, and an elaborate decorative design that conveys the abundance, perfection, and order of God.
