This image is an excerpt from a larger sacred art mural. The original mural, commissioned for St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Phoenix by Fr. Dan Connealy, presents the adoring angels reverently holding the Instruments of the Passion: the Column of Scourging, the Spear of Longinus, the Nails, the Whip, the Cup of Suffering, and the Crown of Thorns.

This work was a part of a larger church beautification project, including paintings of St. Joan of Arc in scenes from her life and Passion installed in the church. In this sanctuary mural flanking the crucifix, the angels rest within volutes of an elaborate vine motif, evoking the Tree of Life and the Garden of Eden, as well as the Church. For Christ said, “I AM the vine, and you are the branches", referencing the Church as a vine and bearing the seven Fruits of the Spirit.

Purchase individually or as a set of 6.
